Sabie nodded in understandment and stretched one last time before slowly walking back towards his pack's den area.He looked back to make sure Jaken was following and then spoke lightly "My father was killed by a bear here."He said saddly without looking back, but stopped a moment sagging his shoulder's a bit to relax them."He took the damned thing with him, but he still died."After a short pause Sabie started walking again.

Jaken walked a bit behind him, he knew where he was going better than she did. When she caught up with him he had stopped, seeming sad about something.
She didn't have to ask before he admitted what was bothering him. "A bear huh?" The fae bumped her nose lightly onto Sabie's neck before drawing back, looking a bit dumbfounded. She hadn't a clue how to cheer another up, but felt she owed this brute that much. "He sounds strong and brave and you must be proud to be his son." Jaken tried her best to sound sincere, after going so long without compassion in her voice and features it was something hard to do without looking down on herself.
Folding her ears slightly for a moment, she looked at the beta before looking up the trail they seemed to be following. Quietly she added, "He must have loved you dearly." Something her father had never felt for her. The fae wanted to snarl and growl and set a fit... but she couldn't with this brute beside her. If he knew of her cunning, uncaring interior he wouldn't give her a second chance.

"I am proud to be his son."He said looking Gratefully back at the she-wolf."But there are times I just want to forget about what happend.....and him.I'm sure you understand my meanings to do so."He said facing his head forward again."It's not easy for a wolf to live with bad memories of their past life. There are some in my pack who understand and some who don't but it doesn't matter,we all care for one another just the same.To us it doesn't matter what you're born looking like or who your parents were,as long as you are part of the pack you are accepted and cared for."He said jumping over a fallen tree.

Jaken froze at the males words. It was almost as if he knew what had happened to her exactely. She coudln't belive how hard he had hit the nail on the head when it came to her past life. She looked different, she caused the shortage in food, she was a curse, a demon, an outcast... But this brute was saying if she was part of a pack none of this would matter?
"But..." She trailed off, keeping her thoughts to herself.
I was part of a pack! I looked different, but I still cared! It was everyone else that refused to accept me! It...
"It was everyone else that didn't care." She said quietly, stepping on the log before stepping off of it. How could she believe in a pack... a family... when she had already been betrayed by another?
Trudging along, Jaken growled to herself. She trusted this brute. That was inevitable, he was an exception because he had proven himself to be different from anyone else she had ever met.

But that doesn't mean it'll be the same for everyone else.

The fae was stubborn, and dead-set on never joining a pack. All of them were the same in her eyes, and as long as Jaken was capable of standing on her own; it would stay that way.
Of course she fell after that, it woudln't be fair any other way.
"Oof." The fae growled and stood back up, her legs had given out after hopping over the log. Taking a few deep breaths, she calmed the shaking, but the headache refused to be willed into nonexistance.
Fine, be that way...

Sabie stopped immediantly and darted back to the she-wolf."Are you alright?" He asked in a concerned tone that reminded him of his father."That is for you to decide who you will trust and your own judgement on packs" he continued when he knew the she-wolf was alright."Some packs are different from others though."He said sitting down again so the she-wolf could rest for a bit."The Hell Hounds may be deadly opponents but we are just as caring and accepting as the packs around here."He said flicking an itch off his ear."Just keep that in mind."Sabie fell silent and watched the she-wolf before he heard more howls from his awaiting pack.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Jaken reassured Sabie before he started talking to her again. And to think she had taken this brute for a fool just a bit earlier.

Who's the fool now Jakie girl? This brute is now unknowingly playing you.

Jaken nodded, trying her best not to take his words to heart. They were all the same, the only difference was the personalities behind them. "Alright, I will." But her words held a tone of uncertainty that Jaken knew if she noticed, so did Sabie.

At the sound of howls, the she wolf felt a drop in her stomach that it took a moment to realize was nervousness. She was scared of what these other wolves would say to her. How they would judge her. The fae gulped before she looked behind her, full ready to head back in the other direction. But she coudln't make out her own scent in this strange forest. There were too many others... though she could always re-track Sabies steps.

Too late now. Just don't make a fool of yourself

"Looks like we're almost there." Jaken said, playing her nervousness off with the statement. "I guess it's safe to hope for the best. If your pack's anything like you, I should be alright." Though if every wolf was like Sabie, the world'd be a better place.

Watch your thoughts Jakie. You're leaving in less that a week. No need for frivolous thoughts of some brute you just met.

Sabie sighed and continued to walk forward, he didn't know what he was thinking bringing back a loner like Jaken. He knew he should have known that not even this amazing female would stay with him forever.

'at least I'll be able to visit her.'He thought bitterly to himself.

"So what do you plan to do when you reach the neutral grounds?" He asked casually as if nothing had happend.
